Most Common Questions

Our seed operation is our family home, so we do not have a retail store and our location is not open to the public.

We are an online heirloom seed company, focusing on home gardeners across the US. As such, the majority of our customers are outside of the area, so we do not have a retail store or a facility to visit or pick up orders from.

If your order has not yet shipped, we will be able to change your order address. Please reply to your order confirmation email and tell us the correct mailing address.
If your order has already shipped, we are unable to edit your shipping address.
If you can’t find your order confirmation email, please contact us using the form below.

Please contact us using the form below with your order number and details of what you need and we’ll do our best to help out – if your order hasn’t been shipped yet.

Usually, when a package is believed to be lost, it was delivered to a neighbor, picked up by a family member, or sometimes left at another location on the recipient’s property. Please check with your family, neighbors, or alternative locations where the delivery person may have left your package.

If it was misdelivered, give it a day or two to make it back to you.

If that doesn’t work, contact your local Post Office and ask to speak with the Post Master about a missing package, or use the Help Form from the Postal Service. You will start with step 2.

Please keep in mind that if the Post Office can’t find or deliver your order, we will take care of you.

Unfortunately, we can only ship seeds to U.S. addresses due to increased seed export restrictions beyond our control.

You do not need to log in and can easily check out as a guest.

In order to see your past orders, track shipments, or create a wish list for later use, you will need to create an account which only takes about a minute.

We do not have a printed catalog.

All of our products can be found in our online store, which has the current selections, plus you have access to all of our articles on soil improvement tips, pest and disease management, seed saving, and recipes, which was impossible with a printed catalog.

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the capacity for donations to seed libraries.

All of our articles, recipes, and seed descriptions are written and photographed in-house and are based on our own personal experiences.

We do not offer promoted posts or ads, and any products mentioned in our newsletter are items we use, love, and highly recommend.

We thank you for your interest.

Seed and Growing Related Questions

An heirloom seed is seed from a plant that has been passed from one generation to another, carefully grown and saved because it is considered valuable. The value could lie in its flavor, productivity, hardiness or adaptability. Many heirlooms have been grown, saved and passed down for more than 100 years. Some have history reaching back 300 years or more.

For an expanded article describing this and other commonly used (and misunderstood) terms, read What Are Heirloom Seeds?

Our seeds do very well across the country, mainly because we focus on mostly heirloom varieties. These seeds have been grown, saved, and passed down from generation to generation and have proven themselves to do well as families have moved, married, and migrated across continents and countries. They have experienced a wide range of growing conditions and climates and have done well enough to be saved and passed down.

We work with a network of growers across the US, mainly in the Intermountain West, that are experts in maintaining the quality and vigor of the seed. This helps ensure that our seeds do well wherever they are planted.

Our main customers are home gardeners in the United States. Because of this, we don’t concentrate on varieties that do well just in our area of Northern Arizona.

We work hard to provide an accurate description of our varieties and if they are better suited to certain areas or climates.

If you have a question if a particular seed will do well for you, simply email us with the varieties in question and some details on your location and growing conditions and we’re happy to give you our recommendations.

We sell only the highest quality seed that has been carefully grown, selected, picked, and packed for you. We guarantee that the seeds will germinate for six months from the purchase date if you follow the individual seed packet growing instructions.

If you have problems with seed germination not due to the weather, gardening abilities, or animals, we will gladly work with you to determine the cause and send replacement seeds if necessary. If the underlying problems affecting the seed’s germination are not corrected, you won’t have any better results with a new seed than the first time! Specific planting information is needed to help us diagnose and help correct the reasons for poor germination. Typically when there are challenges in germination, there are a few main reasons – temperature, soil moisture levels, and timing.

Please read our article on germination from a seed’s point of view  – Starting Seeds at Home – a Deeper Look.

Please give us specific information about your germination problems; we are here to help! The more detailed information you can provide (planting time, depth, soil moisture, soil temperature, weather conditions, etc.), the better we can help you.
